DAVID COVERDALE Chats With KISS 106.1: Audio Available
June 23, 2005WHITESNAKE singer David Coverdale phoned in to the "Jackie & Bender" show on KISS 106.1 FM in Seattle on Wednesday (June 22). Jackie and Sammi joked about how they've been counting down his birthday, but David said he's counting in reverse at his age. Coverdale then talked about living in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, where he's neighbors with Babyface. David joked about meeting his wife at a cheesy hair salon called Lookin' Good. As previously reported, WHITESNAKE's first-ever concert DVD, "The Rock & Roll, Rhythm & Blues Show Live", is tentatively due in August. The disc was shot last October at the Hammersmith Odeon in London, which is one of singer David Coverdale's favorite places to play. Coverdale told Launch that it was a night to remember. "We had 5,000 people from all over the world," he said. "People had come in from Japan, Venezuela, the States — it was extraordinary — and it all came together. Jimmy Page came down to see me — it was just lovely."
The DVD was supposed to be out at or near the start of WHITESNAKE's summer tour, which kicked off June 20 at The Big Easy Concert House in Spokane, Washington. Unfortunately, the producer suffered a heart attack, which delayed work on the project.
In addition to the DVD, two separate catalogue releases are also on the way. On September 20, a three-CD box called "Whitesnake Chronicles" will come out, with the albums "Slide It In", "Whitesnake", and "Slip Of The Tongue". Then, a two-CD best-of called "Whitesnake Gold Series" will follow on October 4.
WHITESNAKE will tour Latin America later this year with JUDAS PRIEST.
